Did I miss the mark?


Have you ever felt like you aren't good enough? I think that we have all had a time when we wish we could have done better. In our minds, even when we do it involuntarily, we create a status that we try to live up to. However, it's usually a status that would involve having the perfect life, perfect family, perfect job, and a perfect relationship. As we all come to know, there's no such thing as a perfect life. Every day there's a new battle to face and a new battle to fight. Sometimes we try so hard to do everything right that when we don't make it to our status, we give up instead of keep on pushing through. The status' we create are sometimes due to comparing ourselves to others. When in reality their life could be just as messed up as yours. In today's world, social media creates that perfect image of a perfect life and leaves out all of the battles that are tearing you down. For me, I see a lot of people with their friends having a great time doing the things I wish I could do and it gets me down that I don't have that. However, in every situation of thinking your life is so much less comparatively, there is a ray of light. When the things in my life seem to keep going on at the same time or right after the other, I didn't see that light. I had to learn to find a hope in tiny things. I found a hope in my prayers, smiles, and times that the people that I really cared about were there for me. You may feel alone right now or think that no one loves you or will be there for you. But we must remember that God is love, so no matter what you do, he can't stop loving you. All that God asks is for us to try our best and if us trying our best doesn't meet our status God still cares that we tried. God knew that we wouldn't be able to do everything for ourselves. That's why salvation is not based on our works but what God did for us. We messed up, so God followed and gave us a way to have a close relationship with the God of the universe and to have brothers and sisters in Christ. That reminds me to love. Based on all that God has done for me through love, I should love others back as God asks of us. Just remember that I love you, God loves you, and there's nothing you can do about it.

What is Love?

     The question that we all ask ourselves at some point in our lives is, “what is love?” Is it, doing things for others, is it seeming to enjoy being with someone more than just as friends. Is it a sacrifice? Is it 50-50 I do something for you, you do something for me. Is it blind? There are a lot of views and opinions on what love could be and what it isn’t. I think that it’s an important question to be answered especially if we are called to love others. I figure the best way to find the answer to that is to ask love itself. 1 John 4:8 says that “God is love.” Now we have added to the question of “what is love”, “who is God?” if we learn more about God we learn more about how to love. The Bible says that God is our Father in Heaven, so is a father's love for their child the perfect love? Guide Of Life

Hey everybody! First off  I would like to apologize for the very late post. I have been in the process of moving and to be honest have been trying to figure out things for myself. My depression has escalated in a way that I am still trying to figure out how to handle. Throughout all of it I am trying to find where my personality went after my anxiety stole it. One thing about depression, at least for me, is that everytime I start to understand it, it changes. It's really draining to be hit with the same thing over and over and yet everytime not know how to cope with it. That is why I haven't posted. I am trying to learn to cope with the depression that is all rooted within my own mind. I get confused on why I cant seem to catch a break in this and so I didnt know how to write about what I learned when I dont even know what to learn yet.
