Strength in weakness



Strength can be hard to keep. Through hard times and storms we feel like we have to be strong for ourselves and others. For me, I felt like I had to be strong for my family because we had been through so much and I didn't want to add more stress. One thing that my mom has told me that has really stuck, is that sometimes our strength is in our weakness. I told my mom that I felt so weak after battling depression for so long. I had to learn that others around me, will help hold up my arms. What I mean is, in the story about Moses in Exodus 17, he had to hold his arms up to win the battle; he had to have people help them through it and hold up his arms for him. Sometimes we feel like a war depends on if we stay strong when really, we're stronger when we have others to support us, including God. Another thing that I had to learn, was to give myself Mercy. I have had anxiety for 3 years and have dealt with a lot of storms throughout that. However, through it all I never gave up. And though I feel weak now I know that it's okay because I see that even though the anxiety and depression has taken its toll on me, I've never put my arms down. I may have come close at times and I may have been on my knees but my hands stayed up! Through it all, God has supported me and so have my friends and family, even when I've felt alone.

 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
Isaiah 40
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

What is Love?

     The question that we all ask ourselves at some point in our lives is, “what is love?” Is it, doing things for others, is it seeming to enjoy being with someone more than just as friends. Is it a sacrifice? Is it 50-50 I do something for you, you do something for me. Is it blind? There are a lot of views and opinions on what love could be and what it isn’t. I think that it’s an important question to be answered especially if we are called to love others. I figure the best way to find the answer to that is to ask love itself. 1 John 4:8 says that “God is love.” Now we have added to the question of “what is love”, “who is God?” if we learn more about God we learn more about how to love. Guide Of Life

Hey everybody! First off  I would like to apologize for the very late post. I have been in the process of moving and to be honest have been trying to figure out things for myself. My depression has escalated in a way that I am still trying to figure out how to handle. Throughout all of it I am trying to find where my personality went after my anxiety stole it. One thing about depression, at least for me, is that everytime I start to understand it, it changes. It's really draining to be hit with the same thing over and over and yet everytime not know how to cope with it. That is why I haven't posted. I am trying to learn to cope with the depression that is all rooted within my own mind. I get confused on why I cant seem to catch a break in this and so I didnt know how to write about what I learned when I dont even know what to learn yet.
