What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Many times, we hear people say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Sometimes, you wonder what they mean because when you're in a battle you feel weak. My anxiety and depression have been going on for 3 years now. Through all of it I just keep thinking of how I feel worn out from battling it. I think that the deeper meaning to what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, for a Christian, would be that when we are in a tough situation or feeling weak God is there to renew our strength and help us battle through it. I know you probably hear that a lot but it's true. In
1 Peter 1:6-7 it says, "In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." So if you feel like you're in a fire God stands with you through it. My dad went through cancer 3 years ago and although he overcame it, it really tested my faith. One thing I had to learn was that the trials in our life would help us grow more, and find a genuine faith. If everything in life went perfectly we wouldn't see a need for God. However, since life isn't perfect, we realize how much we need to depend on God and how much he does in our life. Yes, it will still be hard but when God is there to help you go through it and you let him help you, it will help you grow and strengthen instead of fealing weak. God WILL carry you through!
