Don't Leave Your Thankfulness Behind In November

In this holiday season we go from a day full of thanks to wishing we had more to get the gift or give the gift. These are some things that I hope can keep us thankful throughout the entire holiday seasons instead of just a day.

How to be thankful:

1. Give God the credit, He deserves it.

2.Dont focus in on the little thing that make you miss the wonders being done around you.

3. Look at what you have around you and know that not everyone has that.

4. If you dont know what to be thankful for because of not having family, friends, or food, think of how  God gave up His life for you so that you could have an everlasting life with Him in heaven. Your are never alone. God is always with you and once you believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are accepted into the family of Christ.

5. If you have plenty to be thankful for, try to share with others the blessings you have been given.

6. Remember that even though there are stressers during holidays from planning and cooking, we should always remember the real reason for holidays. Thanksgiving is for thanks! Christmas is for the celebration of Jesus Christs coming into the world as a baby boy that would save the world.

7. List out all of the little things to be thankful for and then grow into the noticable things and look at how much you list can grow. For example, hidden miracles, shelter, food, safety, grace, love, healing, life. We overlook the everyday miracles.

8. Don't become numb to all that God has given you. For instance, instead of forgetting to say that you are thankful for a house because you have been in it for a long time, thank God for enabling you to continue paying bills and for shelter.

9. Think of all the things provided for you. If you have been in a rough patch and someone gave you encouraging words or money or a place to stay. God works through people and events to provide.

10. Even the sights, smells, and sounds of life are often looked over when they are actually a beautiful blessing so don't go numb to it.

I have been having a hard time being thankful because of all of the hard times going on in my life. I know that all of these things are easier said than done but I hope it can respark a thankfulness in you. I will be working on them as well because life isn't fair and it can be hard to stay positive. I will be praying for all of you in this holiday season that can make you feel alone or joyful. Remember that God is always there and can carry you through. I love you, God loves you, and  there is nothing you can do about it.

Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of God rule your hearts to which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be to God for his Indescribable gift.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Mark 9:24
Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"

This is a playlist of thankfulness. We should be thankful that God is in everything. When things don't go right it isn't because God messed up, it's because He can use life's trials for His honor and the furthering of His kingdom. The question is are you willing to be apart of that? We are no longer slaves because of God's love we aren't held down by death or sin. We should treasure our time with God on this Eath and be thankful for what we do have. Our God is alive and He is our Lord of Hosts!
