Jet lag of life

Image
In the world we live in even cities brag about never sleeping. We all wish we could sleep just five more minutes and those minutes turn into thirty minutes or more until your late for school or work. This life is tiring. Everyday you get up and got to go to school or work, you deal with the anxiety and drama that may come with that day, and to top it all off you probably go to bed super late just to wake up early and tired the next morning. This may not be you. You may  actually go to bed at a decent time and be a great morning person who goes after the day. Either way it can still be tiring, you still deal with the anxiety and the constant feeling of having to push through. You may have people depending on you and you have to get something done. In these moments it feels like you have jet lag or what I like call, ' life lag" . You feel tired all day and it may shut down your day. A hectic life can lead to the feeling of if you had just drove for twelve hours. What do we do ...

Depending on God

Throughout life, we find ourselves creating an alternate universe. When the world around us seems like it's all messed up and wrong because it doesn't go along with that alternate universe that we have thought up, we wish we could go into our minds and Escape in the perfect Paradise we create. A lot of times when things can't seem to go in a good way, we blame God for not doing enough or not being a good God and Father. Truthfully we're the ones that aren't good sons and daughters. If everything in our life looks perfect and everything was just peachy then why would we need a God. The hard times in our lives show us that we need someone that is above it all and is more powerful than anything and everything . When we are at our lowest point we look to the one who is at the highest point. God doesn't give us hard times but he will allow them to happen because we will grow closer to God through it and learn to not depend on ourselves but to depend on the creator ...

Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant

When you go to heaven, do you think that you will have done enough to be able to hear God say, "Well done my good and faithful servant." I want to be able to go to heaven and have a peace about my death because I know I worshipped God until the end. My great grandpa said that he felt bad that he wasn't spending his last days doing more for God even though he was in a nursing home and had done so much for God already. My family later figured out that he had been witnessing to the nurses there. I know that my great grandpa got a well done from God because he wanted to go out with his boots on and never stop living for the Lord. We should be desperate to do more for God and yet we seem to have trouble going to church in the mornings or showing love to the people around us. I was going to do a devotion on forgiveness but I am still working on that myself even though God ,though we turned on him time and time again, still choose to love us and die for us. I want to show tha...

Don't I deserve this?

This week I've been having a hard time being grateful for the things I have. I touched on this last week but I think I have realized more and more how much I feel it. It's difficult for me to know that all I need is Christ and what he's done for me on the cross. I keep thinking that if he knows that this world is so difficult why doesn't he do more to help. God already has done more than you'd know and is continuing to do things we may not even see. I have felt very angry towards everyone and tried pushing them away because I'm mad at the circumstances that even I don't understand how to help me. I try thinking of the good instead but, like I said, I seem to always find something to contradict the good. When I feel like God should be doing more I try to remember that he's done the most anyone could ever do by dying on the cross and defeating death. I try to do more for him out of gratitude by doing this devotion and trying to show God's love, but ...
